France on Sunday will choose between "Sarko" and "Sego" — presidential candidates of the right and left with different remedies for France's ailing economy and flagging self-confidence.Sarko is the French's nickname for Nicolas Sarkozy, 52, a pugnacious former interior minister in the ruling center-right government.
Sego is Segolene Royal, 53, the Socialist candidate, who has run a populist campaign in her bid to become France's first female president.
They seek to replace Jacques Chirac, 74, who is retiring after 12 years as president and leaving behind a troubled nation, a sluggish economy, mounting social woes and an electorate hungry for change.
