The 73-year-old man who admitted holding his daughter captive for 24 years and fathering her seven children was due to appear in court Tuesday. Josef Fritzl, a retired electrical engineer, faces a possible 15 years in prison if charged and convicted of rape.He was on Monday moved from the town of Amstetten -- where he kept his now 42-year-old daughter Elisabeth and three of her children in the cellar of his house -- to nearby St. Poelten, the provincial capital of Lower Austria, AFP and Reuters.com reported.
He is expected to be held for at least another 14 days, with the presiding judge then able to extend his detainment if required. No charges have yet been made.
Police are searching other properties owned by Fritzl to make sure he was not keeping another captives, The Associated Press reported.
