Zimbabwe's High Court has postponed a ruling on a petition to force release of vote results until Tuesday, the opposition said.Zimbabwe's High Court convened a hearing Monday to consider the Movement for Democratic Change's petition calling for the release of the presidential election's results more than a week after polls closed. The court determined that it has the jurisdiction to hear the petition, an opposition lawyer told CNN.
However, it will not decide until Tuesday if the matter is urgent enough to immediately determine whether the court has the authority to compel the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission to release the election results, the lawyer, Andrew Makoni, said.
MDC petitioned the court on Friday to try to pressure the electoral commission to release the results of the March 29 election.
