Two Richmond women have been slain in apparently unrelated attacks, the city's third and fourth homicides this year, police said Wednesday.A woman identified by the Contra Costa County coroner's office as Roshell Bernard-Flanagan, 35, was declared brain dead Wednesday after she was shot in the back of the head Tuesday night. Police said she was a passenger in a car near Fourth Street and Maine Avenue at 11:15 p.m. when someone shot at the vehicle. There are no suspects.
Earlier Tuesday, a 47-year-old Richmond woman was found dead on her porch after having been attacked with what police described as an "edged weapon."
Antonia Vargas was discovered outside her home on the 2400 block of Andrade Avenue by a colleague who normally drives her to work, police Lt. Mark Gagan said.
