Two men died in a house fire in East Oakland early today, authorities said.The victims were found in the back of a home at 2640 74th Ave. Their names weren't immediately released.
Five occupants managed to escape from the blaze, which was reported at 1:39 a.m., said Lt. David Brue of the Oakland Fire Department.
Firefighters arrived within three minutes and found the home engulfed in flames, Brue said. The two-alarm fire was controlled at 2:41 a.m. The blaze caused a power line to detach from a pole, Brue said.
