Seven people were shot in North Richmond on Monday evening, according to the Contra Costa County sheriff's office.A sheriff patrolling the unincorporated area heard gunshots at 4:50 p.m. and found one person shot at the intersection of Fifth and Market streets.
Ten minutes later, police received a call from Doctors Medical Center in San Pablo that six people with gunshot wounds had arrived seeking medical attention.
The seven victims were all shot at the same intersection, said Contra Costa sheriff's spokesman Jimmy Lee.
