Jurors in the Hans Reiser murder trial left the Alameda County courthouse this afternoon without reaching a verdict and will return next week to resume deliberations.The panelists left Superior Court in downtown Oakland shortly after 3 p.m. They have told Judge Larry Goodman that they do not want to deliberate on Fridays.
The jury will return Monday morning to deliberate the fate of Reiser, 44, who is charged with murdering his estranged wife, Nina, in 2006. The panel began deliberating Tuesday afternoon after a 5 1/2-month trial.
Nina Reiser was 31 when she disappeared after she dropped off the couple's children at Hans Reiser's Oakland hills home Sept. 3, 2006. Her body hasn't been found, and prosecutor Paul Hora presented a circumstantial-evidence case that he said showed that she is dead and that her husband killed her.
