Two women and two girls have been arrested in a string of purse-snatch robberies on the west side of San Francisco over the holiday weekend in which the assailants laughed as they attacked victims with pepper spray, police said.Ebony Espinoza, 24, of San Francisco, and Tabreisha Moore, 18, of Sacramento were arrested in a coffee shop Monday, along with a 15-year-old girl from Vallejo and a 16-year-old girl from San Francisco who is a relative of Espinoza, police said. The girls' names were not released because they are minors.
The first attack happened at 1:45 p.m. Sunday at 37th Avenue and Anza Street in the Richmond District, when two assailants used pepper spray on a woman, stole her purse and fled in a waiting Ford, police said.
"She was walking on the street, she heard somebody say something, (and) the next thing she knows someone is grabbing on her backpack," said Inspector John Peterson of the robbery detail.
