A pedestrian was struck and killed by a southbound Caltrain commuter train in San Mateo this afternoon, authorities said.The pedestrian, who was not identified, was hit around 3:10 p.m. just north of the Hayward Park station. Trains stopped in both directions for about half an hour, then resumed on a single track around the accident site. Service was delayed up to 90 minutes.
The pedestrian was "trespassing," Caltrain spokesman Jonah Weinberg said. No other details of the accident were available.
