Carlos Sousa Jr.'s parents watched news coverage of the gruesome Christmas Day tiger attack at the San Francisco Zoo, but had no idea one of the victims was their son."Someone called their house this morning," Patricia Fagunves, the teen's cousin, said Wednesday. "Until then, they didn't know it was him."
San Francisco police called to say they believed the dead boy was 17-year-old Sousa. Authorities asked his parents to drive up from San Jose to identify the body.
"It was hard to look at a body bag and say, 'Oh, that's my son,' " said the boy's father, Carlos Sousa Sr. "Right now, I am going through shock. It's hard to believe. I want it to be a dream."
