A San Francisco judge today ordered a 19-year-old Daly City man held without bail in the weekend shooting outside a Sunset District pizzeria that killed two patrons.Matthew Owyang is charged with Saturday's attack that killed Jason De La Cruz, 31, of Daly City and Derek Butch, 23, of San Francisco, on Irving Street near 19th Avenue.
Owyang did not enter a plea at his court appearance before Judge Marla Miller, who ordered him held without bail. His official arraignment was postponed to Tuesday.
According to witnesses, Owyang fired upon the two men after a dispute began inside the restaurant and spilled outside. De La Cruz had offered free pizza to his co-workers from a wireless company, but another customer apparently believed he was entitled to free pizza, too.
