Police are searching for a man suspected of stabbing his girlfriend to death in Santa Rosa, then driving to Ukiah and trying to shoot the woman's mother, authorities said today.Honorio Pantaleon, 30, is suspected of killing his 25-year-old girlfriend, whose body was found about 9:30 p.m. Sunday in a closet in her apartment on the 6100 block of Montecito Avenue, said Santa Rosa police Sgt. Lisa Banayat.
The woman had been stabbed numerous times and was pronounced dead at the scene. She and Pantaleon had two children, both under age 5, who may have been in the apartment when their mother was killed. Authorities do not know exactly when the attack happened.
Officers were called to the apartment by the victim's brother, who said she had previously been the victim of domestic violence, Banayat said.
