A 72-year-old woman who struck and killed a teenage boy with her car last month in Antioch, then fled the scene, has been charged with felony hit and run, authorities said today.Shirley Corbett, a Brentwood resident, turned herself in to Antioch police Nov. 29, six days after she struck 16-year-old J.R. Scott as he rode a foot-powered scooter two blocks from his Antioch home, authorities said.
Her attorney said Corbett had panicked at the time of the crash and spent several days getting her affairs in order before coming forward to police.
Corbett was notified of the charges Wednesday and again turned herself in to police. She posted $50,000 in bail and was released.
