A scorching spring Sunday saw the Los Angeles area bake under record heat for a second day in a row.Anaheim was tied for the hottest spot in the contiguous United States at 102 degrees Sunday, according to the National Weather Service. The city's previous high for April 13 was 96 degrees in 1984.
Also in Orange County, Fullerton set a new high for the date of 99 degrees as did Yorba Linda at 97. John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana hit a record 94 degrees.
The blistering heat was a product of a high-pressure system combined with warm offshore winds, meteorologists said.
