PDT RICHMOND - A 40-year-old man was shot to death late Tuesday as he stood in front of his home in Richmond's Iron Triangle area, police said today.Police are unsure whether Gregory Rixter was the target of the shooting or the victim of random violence, Lt. Mark Gagan said.
The shooting occurred as Rixter stood in front of his apartment complex on the unit block of First Street near Chanslor Avenue around 11 p.m. Tuesday.
The killer fired as many as 12 rounds, Gagan said. Rixter was shot at least once and was pronounced dead at the scene.
