The cricketing world is reeling from the sudden death of Pakistan coach Bob Woolmer during the opening stages of the sport's World Cup in the Caribbean.The 58-year-old former England player died in a Jamaica hospital after being found unconscious in his hotel room the day after former world champions Pakistan suffered a shock defeat against Ireland that ended their hopes of advancing in the competition.
"Everyone sort of just stood back in shock for quite a while," Australian captain Ricky Ponting said when he learned of Woolmer's death during his team's win Sunday over the Netherlands.
"We sometimes get a bit carried away with what we do. But when something like this happens it certainly rams home there are other thing around you all the time."
