ALL Black fans have put an online bounty on the head of English referee Wayne Barnes after their shock loss to France - posting an abusive attack on the Pom that calls him every four-letter word.The incredible abuse online towards Barnes reflects the growing anger and desperation in New Zealand after the All Blacks - who were the World Cup's hot favourites - plunged into despair with a loss to a much underrated France yesterday.
Few sporting figures have ever received such a worldwide threat, nor the level of abuse that has been directed at Barnes which questions his ability as a referee, his personal life and then asks people to hunt the world to find and deliver him to All Black fans.
The $1000 bounty put on his head - in a hostile message posted on the Wikipedia site - will frighten sporting officials everywhere because what is essentially an online reference tool has now been used to invoke violence, discrimination and threats.
A fan, or fans, have doctored Barnes' Wikipedia entry to shower him with this terrible vile.
