Britain's native toads are at risk from a deadly infection that has driven many of the world's amphibians to extinction, say UK scientists.The fungal disease is currently confined to Kent, where it was brought in by imported frogs.
But if it spread further it could, in theory, completely wipe out the British toad population, according to research published in a Royal Society journal.
Experts want tighter controls on the aquarium trade to protect native toads.
