AN Australian soldier killed in Afghanistan spoke with his family of the dangers he faced before he was posted there just a few weeks ago, his family says.Trooper David Pearce, 41, died when the light armoured vehicle he was driving was hit by a roadside bomb in Oruzgan province, in southern Afghanistan.
Another soldier was seriously injured in the blast.
Brother-in-law Norm Cunningham today said Trooper Pearce had been on his first tour of Afghanistan for "only a couple of weeks" and before leaving had spoken to his family of his fears about serving there.
