Disgusting. 20% of the US thinks that the sun revolves around Earth! What's a cell? I don't know but stem cell research is immoral. Great! This is what scares me most. Faith >> Knowledge. How is a civilization supposed to progress if it shuns and ignores that which has made it so successful? Though, I must admit, I don't know what properties Strontium 90 has, but I do know that radiation is bad for DNA, and DNA must be intact in order to build proteins which keep us alive. Stupid old people keep screwing it up for their grandchildren. Step up or move out the way.

Never mind the fact that the mother is 16 years old, not even legal to drink. Why not charging the grandparents too for raising a dumb teen?

A word from Voltaire: “If there were no God, it would have been necessary to invent him.” another: “As long as people believe in absurdities they will continue to commit atrocities” one more: “Christianity is the most ridiculous, the most absurd, and bloody religion that has ever infected the world”

The republican party (as it is today) needs to form its own sovereign nation, away from North America. Maybe they should set up shop in the middle east, say Iraq (since that's obviously what they want), sparing the rest of us their petty complaints. We'll see how they deal with sharing that Iranian border. Ooops, that's no good. What will happen to the innocent Iraqis? Okay, sorry too much rant.

Truth probably is that nobody knows the difference. Clinton's got the first female thing going for her, while Obama has the first black person thing going for him. People want change, but they don't want to figure it out for themselves. This will be a disastrous election if the popular media outlets don't step up and force people to decide something on their own for once. -- self included. I need to figure out the differences between these two, and fast!

eat more veggies, drink more water, stay away from radiation, processed and fast food, move around some, and remember that those auto emissions are nothing in comparison to what this would would be like if everyone had fires burning to keep their homes warm.

C'mon man, let the dead rest. Burn the flags at the post offices or something, but respect the dead, please?

May as well set the child up for death at age 10. Could you imagine what would happen if the drug companies... nm. That's probably why the 4 birth clinics actually induced the defects -- disgusting bastards of civilization.

I'm all for unconventional treatment. This doesn't deserve to make news because so many people die from various diseases that this may simply be random chance. Any lost life ( human, spider, or otherwise) is unfortunate. Quite simply, the parents did what they felt was best. Call it Darwin, higher purpose, or what-have-you -- the child has passed, I offer my condolences.

I'm 24 and I suffer back pain. I exercise regularly, sit for 8-14 hours each day (stretching regularly), am a computer programmer, and frequently experience back stiffness. Sharp back pains come once per year for me. I live with back problems daily. I stubbornly refuse to sit in front of a computer at home unless I'm forced to do work. I'm starting to despise this machine that causes so much trouble.

I don't get it, they toss this but keep the software interface patents? This seems less intuitive and required more experimentation than coming up with a UI. Screw it -- hurray for tossing obstructive patents!!

New York is a filthy city, an inspiring, filthy city. Buses and taxis running all hours of the day, the tagging on every surface, the soot build-up, the train rumbling under your feet, the sound of your neighbors at 2 in the morning... but why does 1 city produce 1% of all greenhouse gases? Yes, it's the largest US city, but I don't know of more than 50 international cities large enough to compete with NYC, making this pollution statistic stand out. I blame heating and air conditioning. Lots of heat is required in the winter and lots more AC in the summer. Many of the 30 million people in greater NYC run their own systems. Why not centralize the AC and heating for buildings, or adding more insulation to those poorly constructed relics of the old age? Couldn't the electric trains be run more efficiently too though? I vote for mag-lev.

Notice to the UK, don't model your space program after the United States'. Our satellites are aging, and our budget has been continually reduced. Our shuttles explode, and scientific missions take a backseat to spy satellites. That being said, you're going to need a lot more spy satellites this century than last.

If only it will always be so simple... I do have strong fears that science and morality will soon come to a rigid head. It already has in the US, where stem cell research is no longer funded by the federal government. What I fear more than anything are the rogue doctors that will sneak around and perform services like a highly skilled hit man -- but opposite -- creators of perfect life forms.

The highest gravitational fields are present around the equator. Once this fact is know, it's only obvious that Canada will have a lower gravitational field than it's southerly neighbor. The article has more to say, but the headline should have been intuitive with a basic physics background.

Sure, we have 3 known dimensions of space, why not have multiple dimensions of time? FTA, in order to support the extra time dimension, a 4th spacial dimension must be present. If we consider that our atoms are microscopic parts of our collective whole, the 4th dimension might be found in the relationship between the two. Even the Christian Bible has multiple definitions of time, perhaps other divine books as well. It seems appropriate, at the very least.
