U.S. stocks slid Wednesday, with the Dow dropping more than 100 points, after Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke said uncertainties around the economy have increased somewhat.His comments were made in testimony before the congressional Joint Economic Committee.
The Dow Jones industrial average was down 105.02 points, or 0.85 percent, at 12,292.27. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was down 10.85 points, or 0.76 percent, at 1,417.76. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 20.36 points, or 0.84 percent, at 2,417.07.
